BAMBOO

What is it? Where does it come from?

Origins: Very widespread in India and Asia, the species Phyllostachys bambusoides is a fast-growing bamboo with a tall, hollow stem.
Erborian's Bamboo comes from one of the finest bamboo forests in South Korea, the Damyang forest.

Collection: At Erborian, we harvest Bamboo from May to June and we use its sheaths and the Bamboo sap.

Use in « Traditional Korean Medicine » :

Widely seen in Korean Pharmacopeia, Bamboo is used in various different forms such as infusions, gelcaps and liquid extracts.

The high quantities of silica and other minerals present in its sap make it an excellent remineralizer useful for combating joint and bone issues.

It is also said to have a positive impact on diabetes, fevers and epilepsy.

Erborian's Anecdote:

"Bamboo is capable of growing 70 to 80 cm per day. It's a plant that thinks it's a tree!"
